The Final Draw Challenge
The Final Draw
A Dramione Major Arcana Artist Challenge
We are close to our final Arcanas drop and this time around things will get even more exciting! We're calling all artists to work on a concept for the "The Hierophant" card for a chance to officially join the Major Arcanas Tarot Collection!
Artists will submit an original (no AI) concept and rough sketch using our card template. From those submissions, four finalists will be selected to create their finished artwork. Then we hand the final choice to the Bookish Queen community and fandom for the final decision.
The Collection So Far
The Hierophant joins the set of Dramione Major Arcanas cards, along with "Strength" and "The Hermit".

Why The Final Draw
My favorite things about my collaborations has always been the honour to work with incredible artists.
Watching the Dramione fandom show up for their work (collecting their cards, buying their stickers, following new artists and getting excited about every new interpretation) has been such a special part of this project.
Collaborations are Invitation-Only, but for one of our final cards, I wanted to open that door a little wider and make the drop an even bigger fandom event where the community can actually be part of it.
I'm hoping The Final Draw introduces me to artists I haven't discovered yet and gives our community a chance to fall in love with some new work too.
Follower count does not matter. I'm looking at the art, the concept and what you bring to the card.
And even if your concept isn't selected as one of the four finalists, I'll be looking through every portfolio. I would genuinely love for this event to introduce me to artists who might be a great fit for future Bookish Queen collaborations too.

Why The Hierophant
The Hierophant felt perfect for this challenge because there isn't just one obvious way to interpret it.
In traditional tarot, the card can represent tradition, knowledge, mentorship, institutions, inherited beliefs, community, rules and the systems we're raised within.
And when you take those ideas into Dramione, there are so many directions you could go.
One artist might think about Draco and the traditions he inherited. Another might focus on Hermione questioning established systems. Someone else might see knowledge, hierarchy, family, vows, mentorship or breaking generational patterns.
You can lean into traditional Hierophant imagery or take the symbolism somewhere completely unexpected. That's what makes this card so exciting for The Final Draw.
We're giving every artist the same starting point and asking you to show us something that feels unmistakably yours. Creativity, originality and personal interpretation are a big part of this challenge.
How It Works
Submit Your Concept
Download our Major Arcana template and send us your idea for The Hierophant along with a rough sketch. No finished artwork is required to apply.
Four Finalists Are Selected
I'll choose four concepts based on the artwork, originality, interpretation of the card and how well the idea works within the Major Arcana collection.
Create Your Final Card
Each finalist will complete their artwork using the same card structure as the rest of the collection.
Community Vote
The four finished pieces will be shown anonymously and in the same format. The Bookish Queen community will vote for the card they would most love to see join the collection.
Artist Reveal
Once voting closes, all four artists will be revealed and the community-selected Hierophant will officially become part of the Major Arcana Collection.

Your Card Template
Every artist in the Major Arcana Collection works from the same basic card template. That's what allows completely different art styles to live together while still feeling like part of one collection.
Please use the downloadable template as the base for your concept and rough sketch. The card structure should stay consistent, but what happens inside that framework is yours to interpret.

FINAL DRAW CHALLENGE — Your Full Name / Artist Handle
Please include:
- Your name and artist handle
- Portfolio and/or social media link
- A short explanation of your Hierophant concept
- Your rough sketch using the provided template
- Optional moodboard or color palette
One concept per artist, please.
Your sketch does not need to be polished. I want to understand the idea and composition — please don't spend hours creating finished artwork just for the application.
For the Four Finalists
For completing your final artwork, regardless of voting results.
A complimentary sticker set from our final Major Arcana release.
We'll introduce you and your work to the Bookish Queen community, with your artist handle and portfolio linked throughout the Final Draw reveal.
The artist chosen by the community moves forward under a separate collaboration agreement covering commercial use, compensation, licensing, etc. They will receive commission per each sticker sold on the collabs.
This Should Be Fun ♡
Yes, the community will eventually choose one card. But The Final Draw isn't meant to turn four artists into rivals. The whole reason we're doing this is to see how differently four people can interpret the same card.
Please vote for the artwork you love without putting another artist or their work down. Follow someone new. Share their art. Tell them when something they made caught your attention.
There is no need for jealousy, fandom drama or arguments over who "deserves" to win. One artwork will fill this particular spot in the collection. That doesn't make the other three artists any less talented.
I want this to feel like what the Major Arcana project has always been at its best: artists creating beautiful things and a fandom excited to support them.
Hierophant + Dramione Inspiration ⌄
There isn't one correct way to turn The Hierophant into a Dramione card.
Some ideas you might explore:
- Draco and pureblood traditions
- Family expectations and inherited beliefs
- Hermione questioning rules or established institutions
- Choosing your own values over the ones you were raised with
- Knowledge, learning and mentorship
- Hogwarts or the Ministry
- Social hierarchy
- Breaking generational patterns
- Marriage, vows, ritual or formal bonds
- Belonging to a community while questioning its beliefs
These are just starting points. You don't need to use any of them.
Some of my favorite submissions may be the ones that make us see The Hierophant in a completely new way.
Traditional Hierophant Symbolism ⌄
If you'd like to reference the traditional tarot card more directly, you may want to play with:
- A central teacher or authority — usually associated with guidance and established knowledge.
- Two students or followers — often representing learning, shared traditions or knowledge being passed down.
- Pillars — structure, rules and institutions.
- Keys — traditionally connected with access to knowledge or deeper understanding.
- Ceremonial clothing, gestures or rituals — tradition, hierarchy and formal systems.
You can reinterpret these through the wizarding world, reference them subtly or skip them entirely. You do not need to recreate a traditional tarot illustration.
Creative Requirements ⌄
Your final artwork must:
- Use the provided Major Arcana card template and structure
- Feature Draco, Hermione, or both
- Have a clear connection to the meaning of The Hierophant
- Be suitable for the existing Major Arcana Collection
Exact dimensions and final print specifications will be provided to selected finalists.
Your style does not need to match another artist's work. Different artistic styles are part of what makes this collection special.
Anonymous Community Voting ⌄
During the voting period, the cards will appear as:
FINALIST I
FINALIST II
FINALIST III
FINALIST IV
Artist names will be revealed only after voting closes. This gives artists with smaller audiences the same opportunity as artists with large followings and keeps the voting focused on the artwork itself.
Finalists are welcome to share The Final Draw and tell their communities they're participating. We simply ask that they do not reveal which numbered design is theirs or specifically campaign for their entry until voting has ended.
Voting will remain open for 5 days. One verified vote per person. Live results will not be displayed.
Original Human-Made Artwork ⌄
The Major Arcana Collection exists because I genuinely value the artists who create it and the time, skill and personality they put into their work. For that reason, generative AI artwork is not accepted for The Final Draw.
Your concept, sketch and final illustration must be created by you. Digital art created in programs such as Procreate, Photoshop and Illustrator is completely welcome. Generative AI tools or generative features may not be used to create or substantially generate visual elements of the submitted artwork.
Please also do not submit traced or copied artwork, another artist's work, or visual assets you do not have the appropriate rights to use. If there's ever a question about authorship, I may ask to see sketches, layers or other parts of your process.
Basically: if you made the art yourself, we're good. ♡
Artwork Rights ⌄
Applying does not transfer ownership of your artwork to Bookish Queen. If you're selected as a finalist, Bookish Queen may display your finished Final Draw artwork on our website, social media and emails as part of the event, voting and results.
If your design is not selected for production, Bookish Queen will not manufacture, sell or commercially license that artwork without making a separate agreement with you. The selected artist will receive a written collaboration agreement before the design goes into commercial production. Any production-related artwork adjustments will be discussed with the artist.
